Tabletop RPGs
Like many, I got my TTRPG beginning with Dungeons & Dragons; at the time, the third edition was the latest and greatest. I don't play D&D these days, and now prefer PbtA-based games such as Dungeon World and Ironsworn.
But more than either, I now most prefer my own homebrew game that includes a lot of my favorite PbtA design philosophy and a few old-school elements like Hit Points. I will be independently publishing this game (maybe running a Kickstarter campaign) and make a section about this game on a game design page here, sometime in the future.
⚅ I like more general-purpose systems than ones tailored to specific genres, story structures or themes.
⚅ I like the abstraction of Hit Points over more specific wounds and limb damage.
⚅ I like processes used to keep the game going like progress clocks and Ironsworn's bars.
⚅ I like "Yes," "Yes, but," "No," and "No, but" results. But "Yes/no, and" cause me no small measure of grief.
